MISSION OF THE MEETING
The Cesena Meeting, traditionally entitled Nuclear Cardiology Today, has reached its 6th edition. This international meeting first occurred in 1988 and has been organized every four years. Over this 20 years period it has become a tradition attracting attendees from Europe and beyond due the extraoridinary quality of the scientific program and of the Faculty. During this 20 years both the imaging field and the meeting have grown and evolved. While the initial meetings focused solely on Nuclear Cardiology , more recent meetings have also included other modalities and have explored the future impact of molecular imaging. The 6th meeting will focus on the need to integrate newer modalities with those already established in order to provide optimal management of cardiovascular disease. During the 2.5 days the merit of different non invasive imaging modalities and their integrated use will be discussed with regard to the most relevant topics of cardiovascular diseases : Plaque characterization, Myocardial Ischemia and Heart Failure. Moreover the most recent advances on Molecular Imaging, Instrumentation and New Tracers will be presented. A session will be dedicated to the discussion of Clinical Cases and how the different imaging modalities can be appropriately used in order to guide the decision making in the clinical practice. In a special session dedicated to the Investigator Awards a selected group of scientific contributions will be presented in the pleanry session. Among these, 3 International prizes will be awarded. The Meeting is directed towards Cardiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Internal Medicine Physicians, Radiologists and Physicists. The Faculty will include many of the major international experts of the field. The Meeting will be held, as usually, in Cesena (Emilia-Romagna, Italy). We anticipate that this Meeting will continue to be of interest to the International Community. We will do our best to provide a friendly and warm atmosphere to all attendees as in the previous editions. We encourage your attendance.
